Alisa specializes in the areas of domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, trademark litigation, and brand selection. As a trademark attorney, Alisa has counseled clients concerning trademark protection for a wide range of goods and services, including trademarks for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, specialty chemicals, software, consumer products, household appliances, food products and healthcare, retail, restaurant, financial, business, commercial, educational and charitable services.
Her experience also includes domain name dispute resolution, unfair competition, copyright registration and enforcement, and counseling concerning advertising claims and product packaging copy. She is also skilled in drafting intellectual property agreements, including trademark, patent, and copyright licenses and assignments and non-disclosure agreements.
Prior to joining the firm, Alisa gained experience as an associate at another Chicago intellectual property law firm, where she was involved in trademark prosecution, domain name disputes, intellectual property transactions, and patent, trademark, trade dress, copyright, and contract litigation.
She is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and currently serves as a member of the INTA Emerging Issues Committee. From 2004 to 2007, she served as a member of the INTA Information Resources Committee. Alisa is also a member of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago and currently serves as vice chair of the International Trademark Committee, which she has done since 2006. She also volunteers as a member of the Junior League of Kane & Du Page Counties, a women's charity working to benefit the lives of children at risk in the community.
