Edward Clair has worked in the field of Intellectual Property since 1997 and joined the firm in 1998. His practice includes all aspects of domestic and foreign patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and unfair competition, including client counseling, licensing and other transactions, prosecution, litigation and opinion work.

Mr. Clair has worked with clients engaged in a variety of technical fields, including digital & RF electronics, communication equipment, semiconductor packaging & testing equipment; critical system state analysis software packages, GPS components & systems, Internet technologies, business methods, security systems, gaming software & components, audio equipment, grounding apparatus, and hand & power tools. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Clair worked for a manufacturer of automotive and appliance electronics.

Mr. Clair has also participated in numerous appeals and reexamination and reissue proceedings in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and several trademark oppositions and cancellations before the USPTO and other foreign trademark offices.

Mr. Clair won 2 CALI awards for Legal Drafting and Intellectual Property Corporate Transactions, and has been named a "Rising Star" in the field of intellectual property by Illinois Super Lawyers and Chicago Magazine.
